RackastRackast Guide

Getting started with Rackast

Rackast is a screen recorder and video editor for Windows that turns raw screen captures into polished product demos, tutorials, and walkthroughs. You record your screen, webcam, microphone, and system audio, and Rackast automatically adds smooth zooms, clean cursor motion, and professional backgrounds in the editor.

What Rackast does

Rackast records full screen, a single window, or a selected area, then opens an editor where you refine the result. Your cursor is not baked into the video — it is recorded as mouse telemetry and re-drawn smoothly in the editor, so movements look fluid and you can restyle the cursor after recording.

What you can create

Software tutorials, product demos, onboarding videos, bug reports, and social clips.

Free and Pro

The Free plan lets you record up to 3 minutes and export at 720p with a Rackast watermark. Rackast Pro removes the limits: unlimited recording length, export up to 4K and 120fps, no watermark, AI captions, and custom cursor images.

Next steps

Install Rackast, then follow the first recording walkthrough.
